What can I offer?
Qualified UK Specialist Maths Teacher
I am a fully UK qualified teacher (QTS), with a specialised Postgraduate Certificate in Education (PGCE) in mathematics teaching and have years of experience in how to successfully engage with school-age pupils in order to make high progress in maths.
I specialised my PGCE in mathematics teaching and did not take mathematics as a 'second teaching subject' (for example as some non-specialist teachers do).

GCSE examination and syllabus experience
I have a deep experience of navigating the UK GCSE exams and syllabus over many years.
I know what GCSE examiners expect. This is coupled with very extensive school-based proven maths teaching skills, and have helped hundreds of pupils make excellent progress in maths.

Proven expertise
I have also successfully shared my skills and knowledge to help many other less experienced teachers, helping them to improve their own teaching skills. For example, I have mentored and helped tutor over 20 new trainee (ITT and ECT) secondary maths teachers over a 10 year period.
I have also more recently coached and supported other less experienced primary and secondary maths teachers in improving their mathematical teaching skills as part of his Professional Development Lead role for the National Centre for the Excellence in the Teaching of Mathematics (NCETM).

Tutoring experience
Since 2010, I have taught as a fully qualified, specialist GCSE maths and statistics teacher, Key Stage 3 maths coordinator, Lead Maths Practitioner, Professional and Academic School Mentor and more recently an accreditation Professional Development Lead for the NCETM.
This includes 10 years teaching GCSE mathematics and statistics at The Westgate All-through primary and secondary School, one of Hampshire’s highest performing schools, helping them to gain a top progress and attainment position in the whole of Hampshire.
I have a proven track record of helping many students gain top grades 8 and 9 in GCSE mathematics over many years. As well as supporting pupils needing to make progress and obtain a pass at grade 4 or 5 via a whole class, one-to-one or small maths groups,
I have also tutored several primary pupils from Key Stage 1 and 2.
More recently I have also had successful experience of tutoring students for 11+/13+/common-entrance exams for entry into some of Hampshire’s public schools.
And have led and delivered teacher training, mentor and tuition support for trainee and ECT (newly qualified) teachers at several Hampshire schools.

Direct tutor access
All of my students have direct access to my support and expertise. No middle person or mentor.

Adapted teaching
Each of my students receive personalised and adapted maths content each session. Tutoring is adapted to the students strengths and needs. There is no 'generic' course that is delivered.

Learn from home
Students learn online using a free powerful online teaching platform, speaking and working directly with the tutor in real-time (face-to face is optionally available depending on location - contact me for further details).

1-2-1 only
All my Students are only taught individually and directly. There are no distractions from other students in a disruptive group or class. Students benefit massively from time being devoted exclusively to them during the whole session without any interruptions

100% focus, no distractions
I currently work exclusively devoted as a professional maths tutor, allowing me to fully focus on supporting and tutoring my tutees, without the distraction of other competing school teaching activities or university studies.

'All-through'
I teach from year 1 all the way through to GCSE. So students in primary stage will benefit from my experience of what secondary maths is expected.
I deeply understand the likely misunderstandings that may be passed on from primary to secondary stage,
There are no sudden 'gaps' in learning and tutoring, For example, where a student desires to progress over from year 10 year to GCSE, or from primary to secondary.
